New Fire Chief Announced at Maryville Fire Dept.

The City of Maryville has selected Fire Lieutenant Jace Pine as the next Fire Chief for the City of Maryville Fire Department. Mr. Pine was one of several qualified applicants who applied for the full-time position. Mr. Pine will begin serving immediately in the official capacity as Fire Chief. 

Over the past decade, Mr. Pine has worked in various fire service roles while continuing his professional education. Pine received his initial Certificate of Fire Science Technology in August 2015 from the Metropolitan Community College – Blue River Public Safety Institute of Independence, Missouri. ln 2019, Pine completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Emergency and Disaster Management and Geographic Information Science from Northwest Missouri State University, and in 2022, he completed his Master of Science in Fire and Emergency Management Administration from Oklahoma State University. 

Mr. Pine has served as the interim Fire Chief since June 1, 2023, following the retirement of Chief Phil Rickabaugh. Prior to the appointment, Pine served as a full-time Fire Lieutenant and has been with the Maryville Fire Department since 2015. While serving in these roles, Pine was instrumental in securing grant funding for multiple projects, including the aerial ladder truck in 2020. 

In addition to his fire service activities, Jace resides in Maryville, with his wife Bianca, their dogs Pierce and Finn, 2 goats and 6 ducks!
