Auxiliary Meeting Minutes – January 2024

Sunday, December 3, 2023 • Sedalia, Missouri

The meeting was called to order by President, Jessica Weisz at 9:00 am.

Members Present

Jessica Weisz, Norborne FPD; Sheri Berendzen, Cole County FPD; Joni Fields, Paris RFPD; Carissa Thompson, Holts Summit PFD; Missy Erdel, Little Dixie FPD; Roseanna Jorgenson, South Holt FD.

FINANCIAL REPORT

Theresa Cox was unable to attend but sent a report. The beginning balance is $6381.58, expenses are $275.00, income is $0 and the ending balance is $6106.58. Carissa made a motion to accept the financial report, seconded by Sheri, and the motion passed.

MINUTES

The minutes were reviewed and accepted. Missy made a motion to accept the minutes, seconded by Carissa, and the motion passed.

MEMBERSHIP

Sheri Berendzen reported there were no changes to membership. We currently have 109 paid, 13 honorary, for a total of 122 members, with 28 departments.

CONTEST

Sheri Berendzen stated that there was nothing new to report.

FIRE PREVENTION POSTERS CONTEST

Nothing new to report.

MEMORIAL SERVICE

This year’s Memorial Services were held in Kingdom City on Saturday, October 7th, at 7:00 pm and Sunday, October 8th, at 10:30 am. The in line of deaths honorees consisted of 8 from 2021 and 2022 and there were 138 who died between the years 2020, 2021 & 2022. This year’s services consisted of those who died in the years 2020, 2021, and 2022 because of the covid outbreak. The Saturday Candle Lite Virgula and Sunday Memorial Service were very touching and there was a very large turnout.

CONVENTION

The Convention will be held May 17th through 19th, 2024 at the Lake of the Ozarks. More info will be forwarded as plans are made.

New Business

The February meeting is being moved to February 11th, 2024, because of Winter Fire School.

By-law changes will be read at the February meeting and voted on at the convention meeting. Joni said the changes were posted on the auxiliary web page and in the FFAM magazine.

Carissa informed us that there will be a BBQ cookoff in 2024. It will be held on October 14, 2024, and it will be held in Kingdom City. The proceeds will go towards the Firefighter Memorial and cancer alliance.

Joni made a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Carissa, motion passed. The meeting adjourned at 10:15 am.

There was a Christmas lunch hosted by FFAM. It was held at the State Fair fire station.
