Washington Opens New Fire Station

The Washington Fire Department is excited to announce the opening of a new Fire Station 1 on March 30, 2026. The station was designed by FGM Architects and constructed by Lawlor Corporation. The station was funded by the City of Washington ½ cent capital improvement tax, ARPA funds and the Washington Community Fire Protection District. 

The station is located in the south east section of the City and is just under 10,000 square feet with three drive through bays, living quarters with a day room, kitchen, covered outdoor patio, four bunk rooms, a weight training room, ICC 500 storm shelter and a full building generator. 

A new 2026 Pierce Enforcer Engine 8120 was placed in service on February 1 at the Fire Department Headquarters,  Station 2. Engine 8110 was moved to Fire Station 1. 

There will a dedication of the new Fire Station and Engine 8120 on Sunday, May 3, 2026 at 2698 Phoenix Park Drive.
