Step on in to volunteer at the 2025 Missouri State Fair in Sedalia this August. You can sign up until June 1 at ffam.org/committees/state-fair. You must be a member of the Fire Fighters Association of Missouri to volunteer. You may sign up for 1 day or all 11. Members gather each year to form a special fire department and emergency services for the fairgrounds. We are the only known department that forms for an event such as this each year. We own no equipment but are incredibly lucky enough to have member departments willing to supply our equipment along with many vendors who showcase their products for our department. Volunteers come together each year to showcase their talents in service to the fairgoers. We provide fire protection and first aid with ambulance services and public education for activities during the fair. You will enjoy meeting and making new friends who like to give their time and knowledge and share it daily. The kids stop at the firehouse for apparatus tours of the donated equipment and observe the training and demonstrations throughout the fair. It is a good time to interact with people and share your passion for helping others and education about what you do in your profession. We staff engines, ambulances, dispatch, first aid and public relations slots each day. We cook our meals and we invite you to share your cooking and grilling talents. You can enjoy the daily activities and training and learn a few new ideas from the rest of the crew. Please consider joining our department this year. Contact me if you have any questions.
