New Chairs for Services

We have taken possession of 500 chairs, ending the need to rent at least for now unless our two services grow much larger. For those of you who have attended in the past, you will really enjoy the new chairs. They are larger, much more stable and curved for optimum comfort, at least as plastic stackable chairs go.

We are pleased to announce the receipt of another large check dedicated to the museum project. Over the past two years, accumulations and donations have put us in a position to move forward with another construction phase focusing on most of the framing and electrical in the north half of the building and a serious look at the HVAC requirements. This is still a work product, but if several things come together as currently planned and hoped for, you could see another major step forward in the museum by the October services.

We are currently looking for a new treasurer. Melissa Old tendered her resignation with a request to be released from all duties by June 1. The search and review for a replacement for this outside contracted position is underway. If we are successful within the timeline, I should be able to introduce our new treasurer in the next FFAM Magazine article.

We are excited to announce that Firestorm Charities has partnered with the Foundation for their annual fundraising campaign. This all-day event starts with a breakfast and bike ride from Arcadian Moon Winery & Brewery to Richmond, MO. Once there the day continues with a parade, vendors, food and music festival. This will be held on Saturday, September 6th in Richmond. They are advertising this as thunder through the valleys and hills of Lafayette & Ray Counties. In Richmond, the host facility is Branded Steak House and Outdoor Amphitheater. The afternoon is planned for people to visit and shop with an estimated 40+ vendors, static displays, food and beverages. The 2-3 trivia bands (entertainment look-a-likes) are scheduled to start at 6:00 and feature headliners to wrap up by midnight. There will be TV and Radio promotion of this event.

Just in case you missed this in the last edition, July 1 is the cutoff for all engraving. The Memorial Shirt order deadline is August 15th and Flag orders must be received in hand by September. Both of the 2025 services are going to be recorded, and the Sunday Service will be live-streamed. Unlike the two previous services, we will be able to get you this information well in advance vs. days before. The last two services have provided more delivery of honors and recognition to families and require more logistical support. That said, we are asking for help in advance of and day(s) of each service. If you have an interest in doing so, please contact us by calling or email at info@mofirememorial-museum.org. A reminder that our mailing address is 5550 Dunn Drive, Kingdom City, MO 65262. For email, please use info@mofirememorial-museum.org. This is a shared platform for checking on messages, so please give it a few days to respond. If it is urgent, please call 314 709 0760.

Thank you for your time and continued support of your memorial and future museum.
