FFAM Convention
The 2025 FFAM Convention was held at the Chateau on the Lake in Branson, MO, May 2-4. The theme for this year’s convention was “Continuing a Culture of Camaraderie”. MISSION COMPLETED! The convention was hosted by the Tri-Lakes Fire Chiefs Association. The funding for the convention was provided by sponsorships from a variety of local, state, and national sponsors. The convention boasted an attendance of 286 attendees from across the State. The attendees were provided ample opportunities to reconnect, network, and make new comrades in the fire service.
Convention weekend kicked off with offering the Certified Fire & Ambulance Board Training provided by MU FRTI. The training was a great success with over 40 attendees and was hosted at Southern Stone County Fire Protection District (SSCFPD). While the class was in session, a lot of behind-the-scenes logistics were taking place over at the Chateau. We utilized apparatus from Branson Fire Rescue and Southern Stone County Fire Protection District to set up the contest site. Starting around 4 pm, we opened the doors for registration and the vendor expo. The vendor expo was made up of 40 vendors from a wide variety of businesses and entities. Starting at 7:30 pm, we held the Opening ceremony for the convention with the posting of the colors by the SSCFPD Honor Guard and a Bagpiper. We finished off Friday night with a social mixer and live music.
Day 2 of the convention started off with the firefighter contest with the singing of the National Anthem provided by Andy Hughes of the Hughes Brothers Theater. Once the contest was completed, the vendor expo was opened. Throughout the day the availability was given to the attendees to Explore Branson. Starting around 5 pm we held the Banquet and Awards Ceremony. During the ceremony, firefighters were awarded numerous achievements and scholarships. The guest speaker Deputy Chief Mike Moore provided us with an excellent speech titled “The Legend of Sisyphus”. We finished off Saturday night with a Dance.
Day 3 of the convention we hosted the Annual business meeting for the Firefighter Association of Missouri and FFAM Auxiliary. During this meeting, the convention was closed with the retiring of the colors by the SSCFPD Honor Guard.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who attended the convention and hope that everyone Continues the Culture of Camaraderie at the home departments. We plan to see everyone next year!
