Fair Grove FPD Mourns Loss of President Morris

We are deeply saddened at the loss of our board president Phillip “Butch” Morris. Morris passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at the age of 82. Butch had a large impact on the Fair Grove community over his life, which included many people and many organizations. We just want to briefly talk about his impact on our organization.

Butch was a huge pillar of the Fair Grove Fire Protection District. He has been a part of the district since our founding in 1955. As a teenager, his father Warren, was the first Fire Chief and Butch was right by his father’s side in those first days. And, he has been a part of it ever since. Butch continued with his dedication to the district for nearly 70 years. Serving as a volunteer for the first many years. Then he served as a board member for over 20 years on the Board of Directors. He has spent the last decade as the President of the Board. The Fire District is truly only where we are today because of the dedication, support, and love Butch had for the district.

Butch will be deeply missed here and the hole his absence leaves will be a hard one to fill.
