Tuition Benefits for Volunteers

On April 21st Hardin Fire Chief Malcolm Cunningham met with MO State Representative Peggy McGaugh and testified in favor of 7269H.01Ia – College tuition for public safety personnel. The requested change to state statute is to allow volunteer firefighters and their children to apply for paid college tuition to any state university. This is currently offered to paid firefighters and we are trying to level the playing field to all personnel. While unsuccessful in getting it passed this year, testifying before a House committee is a step in the right direction.
