The Houston Fire Department has purchased a new engine from MacQueen Emergency, in Eureka, Missouri. The assistance of a $435,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development and $145,000 from our one-cent sales tax made it possible. On Monday, October 5th, the City of Houston Mayor, council members, and city administrator approved the purchase of Holmatro Pentheon Rescue Tools. The one-cent sales tax approved by voters last year benefits the city police, fire, and parks, and recreation departments, and made these purchases possible.
