Cape Girardeau County Emergency Management held a ribbon cutting and open house of their new facility on October 3. The new facility has a conference room, a meeting room with monitors around the room to be used as a command center in a major emergency, offices, a communications center, and a garage area to keep resource trailers and other equipment out of the weather when not in use or deployed. This facility is a great asset to our region.
Mutual Aid in Fredericktown
Region E and Region C mutual aid was activated for a major fire in Fredericktown on October 30th. The local news channel reported over 25 departments responded. An operation of that size is no small task, working together is always a key to successful operations and training together makes a difference. There were no reported injuries at the time of writing this. One comment I did hear was how smoothly the call-out and operations went. Great job everyone from activation to operation.
Until next time be safe out there and thank you for all you do in your communities.
