Hello everyone, I would like to start off by saying what an amazing year at the 2024 Missouri State Fair. I got to meet new firefighters and catch up with friends I have met here before.
This year was very busy, we had the ceremonial signing of the Missouri State budget with Governor Parson and Lt. Governor Kehoe for the upgrades of the firehouse. I want to personally thank everyone who was there for the weekend or the full 11 days of helping with educating the public about fire safety, without the volunteers who took the time out of their busy schedules to make this department run efficiently.
Also, I want to give a big shout-out to 3 departments (Lake Ozark Fire Protection District, Mid County Fire Protection District and Mid-Mo Ambulance District) for allowing us to use the apparatus and equipment, along with other agencies around the state. At the end of the fair our department union (not recognized nationally), donated a check for $2,600.00 for 2 firefighters at Lake Ozark Fire District due to medical conditions. I was honored to present the check on behalf of the FFAM to the firefighters in need of hard times, and it shows the strength of the brotherhood/sisterhood we have not knowing who they are or ever working with them. This is a family, even if you’re a volunteer or career we are doing the same tasks by protecting families in a tragic time in their lives.
Again, I want to thank you all for everything and hope to see you all next year at the 2025 state fair. I challenge every one of you to bring someone new to experience the time and training you had. Until then be safe, watch out for each other.
