2022 Convention in Washington

The Washington Volunteer Fire Company (WVFC) is honored to be the next host of the 2022 FFAM Convention in Washington, MO, on May 6-8, 2022. The convention kicks off on Friday, May 6th, with training sessions and an opening ceremony. Friday events include the Vendor Exhibit and Friday Night Mixer, featuring a silent auction and guest speaker, Chief Jason Hoevelmann, with Florissant Valley Fire Protection District. Saturday will begin with the National Anthem followed by the contest games and the fire department parade. Following the parade, the ladies’ event on Saturday afternoon will include a shuttle to historic downtown Washington to visit local shops, restaurants, art galleries, as well as other historic locations. The vendor expo continues from Friday through Saturday morning and the silent auction will conclude immediately before the banquet on Saturday night. The banquet will feature a guest speaker, past IAFC President, Fire Chief Tom Jenkins from Rogers, Arkansas.

The Convention will come to a close on Sunday, May 8, with business meetings being held and the closing ceremony. The main events will be located at the Knight of Columbus Hall. The training classes will be held at the Washington Fire Department Headquarters, the department’s training facility, and the Knights of Columbus Hall. Registration is open for all training. We would like to request anyone who wishes to attend the banquet to please register by April 15. Registration is through Eventbrite and can be accessed from our website.

The following training sessions will be held on Friday and Saturday:

  • Engine Support, Truck Support, and Search Training conducted by Engine House Training, LLC.
  • Fire Chief Tom Jenkins, Former IAFC President, will be providing a lecture on The Real Fires and the Fire Service.
  • Washington Fire Chief, Tim Frankenberg, will be providing a lecture on Overcoming Challenges and Culture in the Fire Service.
  • Monte Olsen will be providing the Certified Fire and Ambulance District Board Training.
