Santa Comes to Town

The Knob Noster Fire Department (KNFD) held its Annual Santa Comes to Town event Saturday, December 18th, 2021. Due to current events, precautions were taken to keep department members safe as well as our community. As in every other event in 2021, COVID-19 and all of its variants continue to be on the minds of your fire department. At most of our stops, family members were masked up as asked and social distancing was maintained and observed.

During this event KNFD transports Santa all over town on the fire trucks delivering gifts to smiling children, bringing much-needed holiday cheer to the community. Gifts are furnished by the parents of each child and those not receiving a gift are given a candy cane from Santa’s private stock.

KNFD started this tradition in 1990 with old Engine 1 and a very short list of deliveries. 2021 deliveries totaled 65 scheduled stops with over 200 gifts delivered while traveling a 20-mile route. Numerous stops were made to greet youngsters that poured into the streets to greet the Jolly Old Elf. At one point while delivering gifts on one end of a street, a group of children could be heard at the other end of the street chanting “Santa, Santa, Santa.” This has been one of KNFD’s best years to date.

When 2022 rolls around KNFD will have carried on this tradition for 31 years. It is amazing to see a lot of these kids at our stops every year and watch those kids grow up.
KNFD would like to also wish our brothers and sisters across the state a very Merry Christmas and the best for a prosperous and safe New Year.

Our Condolences to the Boone County Fire Protection District on the LODD of Assistant Chief Bryant Gladney. Remember mask up, wash your hands, and social distance. Be safe everyone.
