I hope and pray that everyone had the greatest Christmas with family and friends. Speaking of family, let me talk to the State Fair fire family. The wheels are already turning for the 2022 Missouri State Fair. For the members familiar with the State Fair Fire Department, we are a one-of-a-kind and the only 11-day fully functional fire department in the nation. This year will be the department’s 60th year providing emergency services for the State Fair and guests. A lot of changes have been made in the last 60 years. The newest change will be the application process. It will be online and use a QR code to get the application. I hope that we’ll not have any issues with this new application process but this is a work in progress.
It takes lots of time and dedicated members to make the Missouri State Fair Volunteer Fire Department happen and August will be here before we know it. Please look at the Facebook page for updates as well the FFAM magazine for dates and times for upcoming work details. There will also be more info to come on changes at this year’s fair.
