Warrensburg Fire Department Pinning & Promotion Ceremony

On Thursday, March 11, 2021, the Warrensburg Fire Department held a badge pinning ceremony to celebrate a recent promotion as well as several recent new hires to the department. The Whiteman Air Force Base Honor Guard was present to present the colors to start the evening. David Mellen, a 23-year student of the fire service and owner of Valor Fire Training was the keynote speaker.

During the ceremony, Amanda Byers was recognized for promotion to the rank of Firefighter Specialist. Firefighter Specialist Byers has been a member of the WFD since 2016. During the badge pinning ceremony, a total of 12 members were recognized. Two are new full-time employees. Matthew Soer is the new Fire Training Officer and James Stephens is a Firefighter/EMT assigned to B-shift, Station 1. Ten new part-time Firefighters were pinned as graduates of the WFD Recruit Academy. Those completing the recruit academy were Daniel Brown, Tyler Brown, Kylie Frerking, Zander Hargrave, Luke McKiddy, Steven Mueller, Jon Myers, Riley Rexford, Ben Woods, and Breanna Yates. Firefighter Frerking and Firefighter McKiddy were recognized as Top Recruits of this academy class. This was a great class of recruits. We look forward to their continued contribution to the fire service and the Warrensburg Fire Department!
