Mayview Fire Protection District Awards Picnic

The Mayview Fire Protection District (MFPD) celebrated their volunteer firefighters with an annual appreciation dinner on Sunday, June 14, 2020. The Board of Directors hosted a picnic in the park and provided hamburgers, hot dogs, and brats. The Mayview Fire Ladies Auxiliary provided the sides, desserts, and drinks. An informal awards presentation was given by Chief Kris White.

The awards presented were as follows:

Years of Service Awards
• 10 years – Tim Wright
• 20 years – Chief Kris White / Assistant Chief Jeff Ryun / 1st Captain Jake Hayward
• 35 years – Warren Hawthorne
• 40 years – Kenny Fiegenbaum
• 2019 Jeff Sanders Memorial Firefighter of the Year – Travis Fricke. This award is determined based on the number of training hours and the number of calls answered

2nd Captain Chris Liles was recognized for his service above and beyond within the department’s training and junior firefighter programs.

A commendation award for service above and beyond within the department’s maintenance program was also awarded to Travis Fricke.

Pastor Brooks Stotts was officially recognized as MFPD’s Chaplain
