20 Years – MFPD

The Mapaville Fire Protection District hosted an “Open House” to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the formation of the Fire District from a Fire Association. The open house was held on June 8, 2020. A luncheon was provided after the dedication for the new pavilion was held. The public was encouraged to attend to visit the station, speak with the firefighters, and see the recent improvements that have been accomplished.

Fire prevention educational materials were available for all that attended.

On June 9, 2000, the voters of Mapaville Fire Protection District elected to form the tax-supported fire district to replace the previous arrangement for fire protection with the Mapaville Fire Association. The Fire Association was financially supported by the sale of fire subscription tags and bingos.

The Fire Association is still active as it provides equipment and monetary support for the fire district operations and personnel through fundraising efforts.

Currently, the Mapaville Fire Association has several fundraising projects in progress. This includes the sale of address road signs for $15 each, Mapaville Fire Protection District challenge coins for $10 each, leather portable radio microphone carriers for $10 each, and raffle ticket sales for a firearm will be available again very soon.

The raffle tickets and other items are available by visiting the station at 3687 Plass Rd., contacting a Mapaville firefighter, or calling the fire station at 636-937-6302.
