Knob Noster Fire Department – Lower ISO Rating

Insurance Services Office’s (ISO)Public Protection Classification Program (PPC) plays an important role in the underwriting process at insurance companies. In fact, most U.S. insurers, including the largest ones, use PPC information as part of their decision-making when deciding what coverage’s to offer or prices to charge for personal or commercial property insurance.

With that said the City of Knob Noster Fire Department in conjunction with the Knob Noster Water Department and Johnson County Central Dispatch, has received notice that the ISO rating for the City of Knob Noster has been lowered from a 6 to a 5. Several years ago this rating was lowered from a 10 to a 6.

Quoting the letter received from ISO “PPC is important to communities and fire departments as well. Communities whose PPC improves may get lower insurance prices.”

Chief Rick Johnson would like to thank the Knob Noster Water Department and Johnson County Central Dispatch for the part they played in the ISO review.

Chief Johnson and the Knob Noster Fire Department would also like to thank our Mayor, Board of Alderman, City Administrator, and City Staff for their continued support and reminds everyone that there is still progress to be made.
