Auxiliary Meeting Minutes – MAR 2019

Meeting called to order by President Diane Hanes at 9:00 a.m.

Members Present

Diane Hanes, Galt FPD; Jessica Miller, Norborne FPD; Theresa Cox, Wentzville FPD; Sheri Berendzen, Cole County FPD; Chris Slaughter, Warrenton FPD; Ann Jones, Madison West Monroe; Joyce Thompson, Kearney Fire; Brenda Wright, Shelbina Fire; Missy Erdel, Little Dixie FPD; Kay Asher, Wentzville FPD. 

Minutes

Diane asked if there were any changes or comments for the December 2018, meeting minutes. Sheri mention that the date was wrong that was submitted. Missy made a motion to accept the meeting notes, seconded by Ann, motion passed.

Financial report

There was a deposit of $205 and an expenditure of $10.55 with a total of $7,334.25 in our account. Jessica made a motion to accept the financial report, seconded by Theresa, motion passed. 

Committee Reports

Membership

Theresa reported there was 90 paid dues. Theresa designed and ordered new membership cards.

Member of the year

Diane said that they needed more names or department nominations. Nominations need to be submitted by February 28.

Poster contest

Diane reported when a poster is submitted, to make sure rules are followed. We need to make sure the name is on back, the size is correct and such. There was an article in the newsletter about the posters contest rules.

Convention

There will be a meeting to discuss plans that have been made so far and what still needs to be done yet after the FFAM and Auxiliary meetings. 

Game contest

Missy said there are no changes at this time. Gary Berendzen is taking over as chairman of the contest. Thanks to Rob Erdel for the great job he has done with the contests.

Historian

Chris said she is working on getting pictures for a slideshow and to create a scrapbook. 

Theresa has pricing on getting the FFAM history scanned. Newspaper articles, old paperwork, and such are deteriorating. She is going to work the FFAM and see about getting this done. 

Audit

Jessica and Diane audited the checking account and found that the checkbook was balanced.

By-Laws

We ran out of time, so the work on the By-Laws was tabled.

Old Business

No new business was brought forward at this time. 

New Business

Tim Bean came and talked to the auxiliary. He talked about the Funeral Assistance Team on what they do. Tim talked about the Firefighters Day at the capital. He said it is March 6, and starts around noon. 

Jessica made a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Joyce, motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 10:26 a.m. Next meeting: Sunday, April 14, at the 2019 FFAM Convention in Sedalia. There will be no Friday night meeting.
