Additional Benefits Proposed With Dues Increase

• One $3,000 Department Grant for the purchase of equipment:

All member departments are eligible to apply for the grant. Grant proposals will be reviewed by the Awards Committee and awarded at the annual convention. Can only be used for the purchase of equipment. Not eligible to be used for personnel or operating expenses.

• Fire Fighter Assistance Program:

Any member who sustains a minimum $10,000 fire loss in their primary residence will be issued a $500 check to be used any way they need. Fire loss must be verified by an insurance agent and fire chief.

• MU FRTI Winter Fire School Scholarship:

All member departments will be placed in a random drawing to be held at the annual convention. Five (5) departments drawn at random will received funds for two (2) members to attend Winter Fire School the following year. Funds will cover the cost of the tuition and lodging for two nights at a hotel.

Total new benefits approximate cost $8,550

Dues Increase Proposal

• Departments with individuals: $50.00 department dues.

Based on 2016 membership figures, this would increase FFAM revenue by $7,850.

• Department only: $150.00 department dues.

Based on 2016 membership figures, this would increase FFAM revenue by $8,000.

• Active Members: $10.00 per person ($7/FFAM; $3/Memorial).

*Includes Educational and Junior Members.

Based on 2016 membership figures, this would increase FFAM revenue by $17,465.

• Dues would not change for Associate, Corporate, Sustaining.

ARTICLE VI – DUES

Annual dues shall be as follows:

Active Members – $7.50;

Honorary Members – no dues;

Associate Members – $15.00;

Retired Members – no dues;

Fire Departments – $25.00;

Sustaining Members – $15.00;

Corporate Members – $50.00;

Educational Institutions – $25.00;

Educational Members – $7.50;

Directors/Councilman – no dues;

Junior Fire Fighters/Cadet Fire Fighters – $7.50.

$2.50 of each active member’s dues will be designated to the Fire Fighters Memorial Foundation and will be paid to the Fire Fighters Memorial Foundation biannually.
